I am a Minneapolis native, in practice in the Twin Cities since 1985.  I have a B.A. from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree from Northwestern University.  I graduated from the U of Minnesota Medical School an
d interned at Hennepin County Medical Center.  I was a psychiatry resident at the University of Minnesota.  I have considerable experience/training in working with children.  I acquired my subspecialty training in “talk therapy” at the Institute for Psychoanalysis in Chicago.  At that time Chicago was the nearest place to the twin cities to get this training and I commuted to Chicago.  Now I am involved in training psychoanalysts here in the Twin Cities at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Institute. I am committed to the bio-psycho-social model as a physician and consider attention to the psychological aspect of illness critical to any medical treatment.
